My Poor Neglected Blog

I'm so bad at blogging (and tweeting for that matter!) I find I'm best on FB because I can pop on and off. I feel like I *have* to have *something* to say to blog and a lot of the times I just, well.... don't. LOL!

But today.... today I have NEWS! We're sponsoring a giveaway over on Tatertots and Jello. I'm not great at blogging but I am one heck of a blog follower and Jen over on T&J comes up with some pretty creative DIY projects and ideas. She also has a great following who come up with even MORE creative projects and ideas!  Be sure to hop on over to Jen's site and check out her weekend wrap up party and enter for your chance to win a $50 gift card to our shop.

In other news I've uploaded a few new items to the shop for the holidays. We have a few new necklaces and some really affordable personalized ornaments. We'll be super busy the next few weeks between craft shows and holiday orders so be sure to check in with us on facebook for current sales and coupon codes!

School Days... School Days

Today we sent the oldest two pixies off to school and while I admit that I'll be glad to not have them under my feet for hours at a time, I'll miss those little buggers! Hope you have a great first day of school!

Rain, Rain Go AWAY!

I’m not gonna lie... I’m over Irene. This hurricane is an uninvited guest to say the least. We’ve already lost power once, twice, three FOUR times and I am over it. I need my creature comforts man.... like my ceiling fan and air conditioner and internet. I mean really... this is my unplug time. Did Irene not GET the memo? Does she really expect me to TALK to my husband??? (Only teasing honey! Love, love, love you!) And now they’re talking about tornadoes on TOP of hurricanes so I’m just going to go to my happy place and take advantage of my internet connection while I can and look at wallpaper for my imaginary cloffice and some storage options for my pantry (which I also want to make over.)

I have a laundry list as long as my arm of all the things I need to complete in the upcoming weeks and it’s giving me a little bit of anxiety. We start back at school a week from Thursday (which at some point will involve shopping for clothes and I don’t need to tell any of you that shopping with an opinionated 8 year old makes for a no bueno experience.) I need to get my house back in shape from summertime slacking and ready to tackle the fall/holiday season. We have two upcoming art shows plus our day to day work and oh yeah I have four kids to take care of, dinners to prepare and toilets to clean. I vote we have summer year round!!!  I’m going to take a little cruise around the internet and see if I can find some good freezer meals to whip up so my kids don’t become 8 bazillion pounds living on take out because I’m busy.
This week at work was less than stellar as we had A LOT of problems with shipping piggy banks. And by A LOT I mean two but I am a perfectionist and ONE is one problem too many. I swear the postal workers are taking bats to these poor little piggies to get even with me for shipping out 20 packages a day and I HATE when customers are unhappy or not satisfied, and let’s be honest... who could possibly be satisfied or happy with a box full of broken hog?

And now the power is out again (time number FIVE for those of you keeping track) and  I am thinking of just having a drink (or some chocolate) and heading to bed. I’m putting a period on this week and moving on to greener pastures.

Let’s just keep our fingers crossed that I don’t end up with a tree in my master bedroom tonight and that we can start the week tomorrow with a clean slate (both literally and figuratively!)

Stay Safe!

Getting Closer...

We are SO excited for our first craft show next month. The only thing that could be more fun the decorating my house is decorating my craft fair booth! Each artist/crafter is given a 10x10 space to work with. Some shows are outdoors, some are indoors, some require walls, some are juried. Every show we apply for and the requirements for being accepted into them are different. The one thing that stays the same is that I can make it my very own little "shop."
Red Bank is an open air street fair. We'll have a tent of our own and two blank tables to personalize any way we choose. I have a million ideas swirling around in my head but the one thing I know for sure is that I want aqua and red. We chose that color combination based on my sister in law's suggestion and I couldn't be happier with it. (Kim, my sister in law, is a graphic designer and also makes beautiful letterpress stationary. Be sure to check out her sites and fan her on Facebook to keep up with all of her new projects!) I think it's eye catching and it should really make us stand out.
So while I was searching the internet for some great items for our booth (old fashioned mirrors and frames, wire dress forms and jewelry layouts) I found this great seller on Etsy. Fresh Squeezed Baby makes adorable buntings, burp cloths, tees and party hats for your little ones. I cannot say enough good things about them.  Jennifer is FABULOUS to work with. I told her exactly what I was needing and she was able to get it out to me almost immediately.  You guys think I am nuts and an over achiever? Jennifer is a mom to five (and two of those five are twin toddlers!), she runs two successful etsy shops AND is a full time photographer and graphic designer.  Her craftsmanship is seriously impeccable and I'll be ordering again from her in the future.
Here's a sneak peek of our bunting:
isn't she a beauty?

If you are needing some cute items for upcoming birthdays or even cute nursery decorations be sure to check her out!

Seven Deadly Sins

Father, forgive me... but I've become a serious sinner. I'm not talking about the talking-back-to-your-parents kind of sin or the fighting-with-your-siblings sort of sin... you know.... the kinds that would land you two Hail Marys for your penance.
I'm lusting.
There I said it. One of the SEVEN DEADLY ONES.  That's right. It's a real doozy of a sin.  So I will start out by asking for forgiveness. (I’m a throw myself on the mercy of the court type of gal.)
I have a pretty good life, all things considered. I have a husband that loves and supports me. I have four kids, whom for the most part, are respectful and kind (albeit it a little loud... and often messy... and loud... oh, wait... this is the part where I am being thankful. Strike that.) I have a roof over my head and food on my table.
If I had to rank my lust on a scale of 1-10, I’d be at a 10. It’s not a case of mild lust, like the kind I have for him:

(sorry honey... it’s the accent, I swear!)
or her:

Meet Millie. She's my perfectly English named Mini Cooper.

(why we feminize cars I will never know but wouldn’t it be SO wonderful if this could be the Three Little Pixies mobile??? Take note of the fact that it is only a four seater. I plan on bribing the children for a ride in lieu of good behavior. That's right. Like most sinners, I have no shame.)
This though. This is what I am talking about!

Welcome to my Cloffice!

Isn't she a beauty? I live in a small house and space is at a premium. My stuff is shoved into tupperwares and baskets and bowls. I'm forever taking ribbon, felt and findings out of the paws of the three little pixies. I.NEED.some.space.man. I've got my eye on the perfect little closet in my room and once the pixies are back at school it's extreme home makeover time. I could spend hours pouring over paint colors and wallpaper samples and organizing accessories but not today.

Today I have some very special jewelry to make. I have a piece for a mom trying to conceive and a piece for a mom who is very, very ill.  Your stories, trials and tribulations help put things into perspective for me every day.  I can't thank you enough for sharing your special moments with us. Thank you for allowing Three Little Pixies to be a part of your lives and for letting yourselves to become a part of ours!
